Government is measuring buildings' energy efficiency.
The Direction de l'Environment is using a plane to take measurements of the amount of heat emanating from roofs in the Principality. It aims to increase Monaco's energy efficiency by 20% compared to 2006, as part of the Government's "Energie Climat" plan. Working with the Laboratoire National de Metrologie et d'Essai (LNE) [1], the Environment Department will be taking measurements some time during December using a plane equipped with an infra-red scanner. Flights will take place at night between 21:00 and 4:00, at an altitude of 1000 to 2000 feet (300 to 600 metres).
