Better Internet connection

Monaco Telecom is satisfied with improvements to Internet.

During a press conference on Monday, CEO of Monaco Telecom Martin Peronnet demonstrated the company's commitment to more reliable connectivity. The Principality's operator recently allocated 700,000 euros to make improvements in response to several network failures in 2009. An investigation into the problems was carried out in phases, first analyzing equipment, then carrying out an external audit, and finally coming up with recommendations, which led to several actions including:

  • making the network more robust
  • changing the configuration of some equipment
  • optimizing bandwidth
  • updating and modernizing
  • hiring workers with new expertise

Following the improvements, the company carried out tests during April, which resulted in a download time of 2.3 seconds for 3 mb. The performance was better than that carried out on similar networks in France.

New monitoring equipment can now identify the smallest incident, analyze and correct it as quickly as possible. In addition, a team has been set up that's dedicated to the network. So now, everything's in place for the new high definition television service that's soon to be launched.
