National Geographic and Prince Albert II Foundation work together

The two organizations join forces to save the oceans.

At the end of March, the Prince Albert II Foundation (PA2F) and the National Geographic Society signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The two organizations will work together raising awareness of the importance of the world’s oceans and finding solutions to protect them. Initially, it's hoped that the agreement will have an impact on current efforts to aid recovery in the Mediterranean:

  • pooling expertise and experience to select, monitor and evaluate projects
  • encouraging shared experiences through conferences, networking and communication

National Geographic Fellow and leading marine ecologist Dr. Enric Sala stated that as the oceans' degradation accelerates, global collaboration is essential. He's confident that the joint work carried out by the PA2F and the National Geographic will help raise awareness and mitigate the human impact on the marine environment.
