Monaco submits racial report

The Principality submitted its report to the United Nations in Geneva.

During February Monaco reported to the United Nations High Commissioner for human rights. As party to the International Convention on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination, the Principality is obliged to submit a written report every four years on the application of the Convention. After receiving the report, representatives of the United Nations highlighted the efforts undertaken by Monaco to provide education on human rights, as well as to support a multicultural society. Final conclusions of the Committee will be given in March 2010, with recommendations for following up any issues raised. The Principality will then have one year in which to reply.

The working papers of the Committee for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination can be consulted on the website of the United Nations High Commissioner for human rights.
