Boulevard des Moulins lane closure

More disruption on the roads.

Just as you thought it was over, more road works were announced last week for boulevard des Moulins. From tomorrow, work starts to renew the oldest electric cable network in town, which means that a section of the road will be reduced to one-way traffic. The affected section is between avenue de la Madone and avenue Saint Laurent.

Work is scheduled to last 14 weeks until mid-December. During this period traffic is advised to divert onto the boulevard Larvotto fast road at the Roquebrune / Saint Roman interchange. In Monte Carlo, a temporary roundabout will replace traffic lights at the top of avenue de la Madone. The bus stop for lines 1 and 4 in front of the Lemoine shop will be temporarily relocated onto avenue Saint Laurent between the Saint Charles church and the Nike shop.

Note that this is the first phase of the project to renew electricity cables, and further work is to be undertaken between place des Moulins and avenue Saint Laurent in 2011. By then, the tunnel bypass from Larvotto to Cap d'Ail should be in use.
